New Delhi [India], October 30: Parents, schools, teachers… Everyone tries all possible tricks to get the best out of a student when it comes to studies. However, unfortunately, nobody tries to ensure that a child is really happy. And, without true happiness, there is no room for academic excellence. A Thiruvananthapuram-based ed-tech startup learned the lesson the hard way in its initial years. Once it learned the bitter lesson – a real pain point in education, it did go for a pivot which is fast capturing the imagination of the school community in Keralam.
Resorcio, which started off as an academic content aggregation platform in 2020 amid the Covid scare, is now running a one-of-its-kind holistic programme which helps the school ecosystem, comprising students, teachers and parents, wade through the Gen Z Turbulence. The startup’s flagship programme, an outcome-driven 1.5-year holistic school transformation model, helps schools evolve into future-ready institutions by improving overall school performance through structured modules, data-driven tools, and continuous support from diverse perspectives.
The nascent company has developed its B2B product at a complex time when parents are demanding more, students are more complex than ever, teachers are exhausted, and managements are seeking sustainable, data-driven ways to uplift their entire school ecosystem.
The key component of the project is The Happiness Triangle which positions a happy student at the centre of three corners – a growing school, a resourceful teacher and a supportive parent. “If the three components are in the right place, then a student will automatically be happy. The programme comes with specific modules designed for the intellectual, emotional and academic development of teachers, parents and students. The programme is specially designed with the aim of preparing teachers to learn, understand and communicate with the Gen Z students, who are sometimes left anxious, distracted, or disconnected,” explains Robins J Alappatt, Co-Founder & COO.
The programme also supports teachers with special training in AI tools.
Geethika Sudip Co-Founder & CEO, sums up the programme like this: “It is a holistic approach that takes cognizance of the learning patterns of the current generation, as well as the upskilling requirements of teachers.”
The programmes bring together child specialists, psychiatrists, and veteran educators to train school leaders and teachers. The workshops equip educators with practical screening tools like TSQ, NEST, and TDSC to identify early signs of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and learning disabilities among children.
The components for the children include workshops covering career profiling, quick revision techniques and a public speaking programme. Students are also offered coaching in spoken English and abacus to improve numerical and linguistic proficiency.
The most important component of the programme is Yudansha, a nine-level, year-long, gamified learning programme which engages all students through games, tasks and activities connected with their daily learning, habits, family and social adaptation. The State level winners get the chance to participate in Overseas events.
Besides the Happiness Triangle component, the programme features six more key pillars. They are strategic brand positioning and community visibility partnership, data-centric, process-driven school transformation system, international exposure for students and teachers, financial enhancement through new admissions, accreditation support and in-house integrated IIT coaching.
“Schools often function on intuition, experience or imitation. Our programme helps the clients to go beyond these aspects with a data-driven, process-centric approach. We intend to improve the academic performance of and admissions to a participating school by at least 20%,” Robins said.
Around 90 CBSE Schools and two government schools, aided by CSR funds, have already participated in the programme. “It has benefitted around 35,000 people, including teachers, students and parents. Our target is to make it 250 schools in South India in the next two years,” he added.
The company is also planning nationwide expansion of its Yudansha gamification portal in a B2C model. The startup also flaunts an inspiring line-up of patrons with HH Princess Gouri Parvathi Bayi as the chairperson of the Board and Kris Gopalakrishnan as mentor and anchor investor. T. P. Seetharam, IFS (Retd.), Former Ambassador of India to the UAE; Dr. Arun B. Nair, Professor of Psychiatry, Adolescent Mental Health Specialist; Swami Viviktananda Saraswati, Regional Head of Chinmaya Mission Kerala; and Dr. Deepa Chandran, General Secretary, Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes are among the eminent persons associated with Resonate 360, an advisory panel to the company driving the wider scope of Resorcio’s efforts.
The startup is actively looking for further investments from like-minded people and HNIs.
