Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], November 3: Ganglia Technologies Pvt Ltd, housed in the Manipal GoK Bioincubator in Manipal, Karnataka, received the prestigious “Promising & Innovative Technology Company of the Year 2023” Karnataka Award in the “Futuristic Product Development & Research” category. This esteemed recognition was presented at the 22nd The Great Indian Entrepreneurship, Design, Business & Startup Awards & Conference 2023, an event that celebrates entrepreneurship, innovation, and business leadership excellence. Ganglia Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company that develops smart medical devices that address the ergonomic and operational needs of both patients and doctors, is an outcome of the research, innovation, and entrepreneurial emphasis of Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal and Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). The company was recently shortlisted amongst the 12 start-ups in India’s start-up category and as one of the total 24 start-ups for the prestigious Singapore-India Hackathon 2023. The awards were presented by Rajah Vijay Kumar, a Scientist and Innovator with over 150 IPR assets, and K Raghu, a renowned Chartered Accountant and former President of ICAI.
Representing Ganglia Technologies Pvt Ltd at the event were Dr. Jayaraj Mymbilly Balakrishnan, Chairman, and Dr. Dasharathraj K Shetty (www.drshetty.in), the Managing Director. They were accompanied by key members of the company’s core Design Team: Shreyas Holla, Prithvi Tilwani(former intern), and Sripathi Ranga Bhatta. Notably, all the Design Team members are either alumni or current students of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).
In their remarks, the team expressed their gratitude, stating, “Dr. TMA Pai, the founder of Manipal, has always been a role model for us. We owe this award to the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal (MAHE), whose unwavering support has been instrumental in bringing us to this stage. The milestone has been achieved through the tireless efforts of Prof. Dr Jayaraj Mymbilly Balakrishnan and Dr Dasharathraj K Shetty with the able support of Directors Dr Balakrishna and Prof. Dr Sandeep S Shenoy. Prof. Dr. Jayaraj Mymbilly Balakrishnan is a renowned medical professional who serves as the founding head of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and as the Coordinator of the Centre for Disaster Management. Dr. Dasharathraj K. Shetty(www.drshetty.in), a multifaceted Technocrat and Management professional, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Data Science and Computer Applications, MIT, Manipal. Dr. Shetty’s extensive industrial experience, gained from a prominent IT company, enriches his teaching and research. He is the Secretary General of the Indian Bureau of Administrators and Technocrats(I-BAT ‘The Think Tank’). Dr. Shetty is a public speaker and resource person and has been a resource person in more than 100 workshops/seminars and conferences across the world.
