Upasana Singh- Young mind behind the concept of jagmag lights
New Delhi (India), March 10: Upasana Singh and Chirag Choudhary are the successful entrepreneurs behind Jagmag Lights, a well-known lighting manufacturing company in Uttar Pradesh, India. Their story of starting a business with almost negligible investment and turning it into a multi-crore enterprise is truly inspiring.
After completing his MBA in Marketing, Chirag worked at a Lighting import firm in Ghaziabad, while Upasana was working as an admission head at IILM college in Greater Noida. With their backgrounds in engineering and mathematics, they had a good analytical mindset and saw the potential of the lighting industry in different sectors.
They started Jagmag Lights in a rented 10×10 room, trading in lighting products before eventually branching out into manufacturing. With a network of 100+ craftsmen and skilled artists from Indian villages, Jagmag Lights is now a well-known lighting manufacturing company in Uttar Pradesh, with dealers in all the big cities of India.
The couple’s journey has been a roller coaster ride, from earning a meagre Rs 80,000 in their first year of trading in LED lights to becoming a direct or 3rd party vendor for almost all big hotels and banquets in 2018. They even weathered the storm of the COVID-19 pandemic with the launch of their e-commerce platform (jagmaglights.com) in 2022 to cater to the growing demand for local suppliers.
Jagmag Lights has come a long way since its humble beginnings, with a projected turnover of Rs 20 crore for 2023-2024. Upasana and Chirag’s success story is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and willingness to take risks.
