Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], August 19: Marwari Sanskriti Manch marked India’s Independence Day with a special patriotic musical tribute, bringing together music, culture and community in a celebration of the country’s freedom and shared national spirit. The occasion was graced by distinguished dignitaries and members of the Marwari Sanskriti Manch to commemorate the occasion and reflect on the values of unity, diversity and collective responsibility.

The celebration was rooted in the Manch’s larger objective of using culture as a platform to bring people together. Through its social and cultural initiatives, Marwari Sanskriti Manch seeks to preserve cultural traditions while encouraging greater community participation and creating avenues for different generations to remain connected with India’s rich heritage.

The patriotic musical tribute formed the centrepiece of the celebration, with a specially curated presentation honouring the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and celebrating the country’s journey since Independence. Through music and cultural expression, the event sought to evoke a sense of pride in the nation while highlighting the enduring values that continue to shape India’s social fabric.

The participation of prominent public representatives and members of the community added significance to the celebration, which brought together people from diverse backgrounds through a common expression of patriotism. The event also reflected the Manch’s continuing focus on creating cultural platforms that encourage community engagement and strengthen social bonds.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Lalit Kr. Prahladka, Founder President, Marwari Sanskriti Manch, said, “Independence Day is not merely an occasion to remember our freedom struggle; it is also an opportunity to reflect on the responsibilities that come with freedom. Marwari Sanskriti Manch has always believed that culture can play an important role in bringing people together. Through this celebration, we want to create a space where patriotism, music and our shared cultural values come together in a meaningful manner.”

The Manch has consistently sought to use cultural celebrations as avenues for community participation, while ensuring that India’s rich traditions remain relevant and accessible to younger generations. Its initiatives aim to create greater cultural connect while encouraging a wider understanding of the values that bind communities together.

Mr Lalit Beriwala, Chairman, Marwari Sanskriti Manch, said, “The spirit of India lies in its diversity and in the ability of communities to come together for a larger collective purpose. The Independence Day celebration is an expression of that spirit. Through this initiative, Marwari Sanskriti Manch seeks to celebrate the nation while encouraging greater participation and engagement with our cultural heritage.”

The musical tribute formed the centrepiece of the celebration, offering an opportunity for attendees to connect with the emotions associated with India’s Independence Day through music and cultural expression. The event also underscored the Manch’s continuing focus on creating platforms that bring together culture, community and social engagement.

Manish Khemka, President, Marwari Sanskriti Manch, said, “Independence Day reminds us of the values that have shaped our nation and the collective responsibility we share in taking that legacy forward. As part of its broader cultural and community engagement, Marwari Sanskriti Manch continues to focus on initiatives that encourage participation across age groups and strengthen the connection between cultural heritage and contemporary community life. The Independence Day celebration was envisioned in the same spirit, bringing together music and patriotism in a shared celebration of the nation.

Vikash Poddar, Secretary, Marwari Sanskriti Manch, said, “The strength of any community lies in its ability to preserve its cultural identity while remaining connected to the larger society. Independence Day offers an opportunity to connect generations with the values and history of our nation.
